"You can't go wrong with the Old School House. Fantastic location in walking distance to everything that matters, in particular the train station, supermarket and the Salisbury market." - Eli
Built c. 1860, the house was once home to the Headteacher of the Victorian school next door. Step over the threshold into a spacious hallway and grand staircase leading to the three bedrooms and family bathroom upstairs.
Downstairs, there is an open plan living room, kitchen and dining area, along with a utility room and WC. Enjoy a home cooked meal with friends or family around the 6-seater dining table, or venture into Salisbury to experience one of the many great restaurants on offer. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove, oven, toaster, coffee machine (pods), kettle, microwave and fridge freezer. There is also a dishwasher and washing machine in the utility room. Tea, coffee, sugar and basic condiments are provided. In winter months enjoy a cosy night in with a glass of wine in front of the fire (logs, kindling and fire starters are provided for the log burner between Nov-March).
On the first floor there are two spacious bedrooms - a twin and double, and a family bathroom with spacious walk in shower (newly fitted in 2025!). Ascend another staircase to reach the huge master bedroom, boasting a superking bed, lounge area with TV and games, and study corner with desk for homeworking. You can even challenge your companions to a game of foosball/mini football or snooker!
Outside there is a small patio area with outdoor seating.

The Local Area
There are a plethora of things to see and do in the local area. A few of our top suggestions include: ❃ The Beautiful Cathedral, with the tallest spire in the UK and surrounded by a beautiful green area, is a 2 minute walk from the property. All you have to do is cross the road and walk through the gate to enter the stunning Cathedral close - an ideal spot for a picnic in summer (picnic hamper and rug provided). ❃ Stonehenge is a 20 minute drive, there are regular bus trips from the station too. ❃ Salisbury still has twice-weekly charter markets which have run continuously since 1227! ❃ There are walks along the 5 rivers which flow through Salisbury easily accessible from the property. An OS map is provided to give you inspiration! ❃ Old Sarum, an Iron Age Hill fortress, then Roman Fort, then original Cathedral is a beautiful 45 minute walk from the property. ❃ All of the local restaurants are a short walk from the door. We have collaborated with local restaurants to offer you discounts for a range of cuisines - codes are shared in our digital guidebook :) The area is renowned for its forest sporting activities, and the New Forest National Park and the famous Dorset Jurassic Coastline are just under an hour’s drive away. The area is centrally located to offer easy travel options to Southampton, Winchester, Stockbridge, Bath and Bristol, as well as a direct train link to London Waterloo.
